The concerns about the COVID-19 are still very real. I would like to take this moment to reassure you that I am taking all precautions advised by the WHO, the CDC, and the NCDHHS and will apply them to all my portrait sessions.

Here are the steps I will be taking to keep my sessions clean and safe:

Working remotely, connecting digitally: I work from home to handle general business operations, photo editing, production, assembly, packaging, shipping, etc. My home consists of me, my husband, and our two dogs so no big exposure concerns there.

Outdoor family sessions: Excluding newborn sessions (see special note about newborn sessions further down). All family sessions will be held outdoors in the fresh air to minimize contact. Sessions will take place in the early morning. They can take place in your own yard or a local green space. Please feel free to contact me for recommendations for outdoor areas for your session.

Disinfecting outdoors: I will arrive at each session with wet wipes and hand-sanitizer and will use those throughout the session. I will also be wearing a mask.

No personal contact: This one makes me the most sad, as I love hugs from the kiddos, but in the spirit of “social distancing” I will avoid any personal contact with my clients during family sessions. This includes : hand-shaking, hugging with children and also moving/touching hair or clothes while shooting. I will try my best to direct you from a safe distance.

One session per day: Only one session will be held per day.

Health measures: I am monitoring my health and my family’s health daily which includes temperature checks. If any member of my immediate family is sick or have had a fever or any other symptoms such as cough, runny nose or vomiting before or after your session, I will contact you immediately. For the safety of everyone, I ask that you do the same.

To reschedule , please contact me as soon as possible. There is no fee to reschedule.

A special note about newborns: At this time it is recommended that you not leave your home with your newborn. Therefore special precautions must be put into place for newborn sessions:

* As I have always done, when I arrive I will wash my hands thoroughly. I will also bring hand sanitizer to use in-between hand washings. Throughout my entire 15+ years of photographing newborns, I have always been very diligent about  washing  my hands thoroughly before and after each newborn session as well as having and using hand-sanitizer during every session. I will continue to be vigilant with this practice.

* I will be wearing a mask for ALL sessions.

*Because I am not a photographer that relies strongly on “posed” newborn photography, the amount of physical contact I have with a baby is very minimal to begin with. I may swaddle your baby or turn them over. I may tuck in an arm or leg, but that’s about it. Again – hand sanitizer is always used throughout the session.

* If you would like an outdoor newborn session on your porch, patio, or lawn as an added layer of precaution I am more than happy to accommodate this request, just let me know.

In addition to these steps, I will be monitoring the latest information including recommendations from the CDC and the World Health Organization and doing my part to stop the spread of this disease.

I will continue to keep an eye on the situation and make further adjustments to my action plan if and when necessary. The health and well-being of my family, my clients, and our communities are of utmost importance to me and will continue to be my north star as I navigate the road ahead.

Thank you for your steadfast support of my business—I am truly grateful. I look forward to seeing you and you family soon.
