The following information is intended to outline the business policies used by Jody G.
Session Fee
The Session Fee pays for time, artistic vision, and processing only. Proofs do not come with the session, nor leave the photographer’s possession without purchase (no loaning). No exceptions. Print prices are separate from session fees.
Your session fee includes:
- Up to 3 hours with Jody on your session date(s)
- Post-session image preparation
- An online gallery and preview session appointment for ordering purposes
- Jody’s personal consultation with a professional lab to achieve the high-quality images and products to present you
The session fee is due at the time of booking your session. The money is non-refundable but we will reschedule once if you have some problem. Please notify us at least 48 hours before the photo session if you must reschedule. If the weather isn’t agreeable on the day of the session, we will gladly reschedule to another day.
Images will be available approximately 4 days after your photo session and will be presented to you through an online slideshow. Jody will also be contacting you, at this time, to schedule your in-person ordering session. It is at this time you will make your portrait selection, and place your order. Order placed during the ordering session are given a 10% discount from the published pricing. This special offer is ONLY given during your ordering session. Any orders placed after that time will be priced at the published rates. After your ordering session you images will be placed in an online gallery for a year from the date of your session. You may give your online gallery’s web address to friends and family to view and order from as well.
Payment of any order is due in full when you place the order unless prior arrangements have ben made. Jody G cannot accept partial payments. All orders placed duing an ordering session or lione will be ready for you 2-3 weeks ater your payment is received (and checks cleared). Please allow 4-6 weeks for speicialty items such as albums and coffee table books.
Images from your order will be kept on file for 1 year for further additional reprints at a later date. There is a $55 minimum for re-orders.
All images are to be inspected by you at delivery and your signature is required stating they meet your approval. After this, all sales are final. There are no returns on prints or preview albums. No exceptions.
Copyright Information
All images are copyrighted by photographer, Jody G Maslan. Unless permission is given it is illegal and unlawful to scan, copy, or reproduce Jody G Maslan’s work in any manner or medium and punishable by law with fines starting at $150,000. As an artist, Jody wishes to have complete control over the final look of her client’s images. Scanned images damage her reputation as a photographer by distoriting and devaluing the image quality.
Thank you for respecting Jody’s work and livelihood by choosing not to reproduce her images without permission.
Print Order
Prints orders must be paid in full at the time or ordering. Your online gallery expires one year from the date of your portrait session. It is highly recomnneded that you make your purchasing decisions within this time frame. If you would like to re-publish your gallery there is a $45 fee.
Final Prints
Your final print order will be delivered approximately 2-3 weeks after you place your order. Canvases and specialty items may take up to 4-6 weeks. Your final prints/items are usually delivered to addresses with 15 miles of area code 28203. If you live outside of that area your order will be delivered to you via UPS or a similar parcel carrier.
Portrait Care
Handle your protraits with extremem care. Damage incurred as a result of improper handinling, framing or hanging is the responsibility of the client.
Session Fee Policy
A non-refundable fee for your session is due at the time you book your session. This guarantees the time and date allotted for you. Should payment not be received in this time frame, Jody G reserves the right to offer the date and time to another client.
Sales are Final
Due to the custom nature of each session, all sales are final – proofs books that are purchased are not returnable.
Retouching
Any retouching beyond the basic retouching we automatically do (small facial scars, blemishes, eye circles) will be charged a fee of $50 per hour. This includes braces removal of logos/words on shirts, etc.
Album Policy
Often Jody will show an image in both black and white and color. When purchasing the session album, you will not receive both versions of an images, rather, Jody will include whichever version is artistically more appealing.
Re-Shoots
Re-shoots are at the discretion of the photographer and are not given for regretful personal choices such as hair and clothing.
Under the Weather
If your child is feeling ill, please call to reschedule. Jody understands that sometimes, this happens. It is better to reschedule for a time when your child is feeling better than to try and muster through a session. You will be much happier with your final images if you wait. Also, Jody sees a lot of children during a week’s time and as you know many childhood sicknesses are contagious. To prevent the spread of an illness to other families, please reschedule your session if your child is not feeling well. If you must cancel, please try to do so at least 48 hours before your session.
Payment Options
Jody accepts cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Personal Checks
Checks returned by the bank, for any reason, will be charged a $25 service charge and all orders will be cancelled if they are not paid in full within three days of notification.
Usage
Jody reserves the right to use the images and/or reproduction for display, publication, or other purposes. Negatives and original files remain the property of Jody G. Maslan.
Reprints
All images will be kept on file for one year after your initial order. You are welcome to place an order from your session during that time there is a $50 minimum on re-print orders made afer your initial order.
